Unfortunately, the Jones/Maruri concert has been postponed
until at least the 2009/2010 concert season. 
These musicians will perform instead:

About the Artists

Darilyn Manring, violoncello

Darilyn’s degrees include a Bachelor of Music from Illinois State University, a Master of Music from Yale School of Music and a Doctorate of Musical Arts from Boston University. She has concertized throughout the United States and Brazil and has held academic positions at the University of Wyoming, the University of Pennsylvania at Indiana, the University of Bridgeport, Sacred Heart University, and Northwestern State
University of Louisiana. 

Darilyn’s doctoral dissertation, Latin American Women Composers for Cello or Chamber Orchestra Which Includes the Cello documents about 425 extant works by 130 women.

Darilyn is the Principal Cellist of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony under the direction of Gustav Meier and has recorded for Phonodisc in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She currently teaches strings for the Wilton (CT) Public Schools. This is her fourth summer in the Silver Bay String Quartet.

Marty Meade, violin

Marty has been in the Silver Bay String Quartet for 22 years. He currently teaches strings for the Wilton (CT) Public Schools. He is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, the University of Connecticut, and the Interlochen Arts Academy.

Marty has been Concertmaster of the Battle Creek (MI) Symphony Orchestra and the Bismarck-Mandan (ND) Symphony Orchestra. He was also in the Artist in Residence String Quartet at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. 

Marty’s first years in the Silver Bay String Quartet were 1976 and 1977.  Since 1989, he has been the organizer of the quartet. 

Joseph Pepper, piano

Joseph has performed in solo, chamber, and orchestra concerts around the United States and Ireland. He has studied with Xun Pan at the Pennsylvania Academy of Music, Read Gainsford at Ithaca College, 
and Robert Weirich at the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While in Kanasas City, he collaborated with the Kansas City Ballet's School and Company. Mr. Pepper now lives
in Burlington, VT where he teaches a private studio and classes at the University of Vermont, and frequently performs. 

He is a member of the newly formed Burlington Chamber Orchestra, and has recently performed with Counterpoint, led by Robert DeCormier. Joe will perform a series of recitals and concerts around Vermont in the latter half of Summer, 2008.
