The Classic[al] Jazz Ensemble -- Celebrating the American jazz standard, from tin pan alley, to Broadway and beyond, 3 generations of musicians give you their unique interpretations.

George DeLeon, tenor sax, worked with such jazz icons as Clark Terry, Horace Silver, Art Farmer, Roy Eldgridge, Billy Hart and Dick Hyman. His rich, wide, ‘Lester Young influenced’ sound is rarely heard these days at such a refined level .

Lou Pappas, bass,  has performed with jazz artists Jay McShann, Bill Watrous, Tom Scott and composer Patrick Williams. After three years with the Oklahoma City Symphony, he moved to New York to accept the position as Bassist with the United States Military Academy Band, West Point, New York. As a member of the “Jazz Knights,” he performed at jazz festivals throughout the United States along with such guest artists as David Liebman, Byron Stripling, James Williams, Claire Fischer, Randy Brecker, Billy Cobham, and fellow bassist John Clayton. He performed regularly with the “West Point Chamber Winds,” and gave the world premiere performance of Robert Baksa’s Sonata for Contrabass and Piano.

Beth Abrams, vocalist, who has performed from New York City to VanCouver, Canada to Java, Indonesia. Most recently she has been singing jazz standards and performing her original music with Unicorn, the Einhorn family band. Unicorn’s ensemble includes Peter Einhorn on guitar, Sam Einhorn on cello, Emily Einhorn on vocals and violin and Beth on vocals, guitar and piano.

Sam Einhorn, cello, has been playing  for over eight of his 11 years. He has performed with the Flying Fiddlers String Chorale for several years as well as doing solo, duet and ensemble performances with his school orchestras. With the Fiddlers he has traveled in a concert tour to the Maritime Provinces of Canada and performed at a regional Music Educators conference in Baltimore MD. Sam is currently playing in the string quartet The Flying Fingers and working with his family’s band Unicorn. 

Emily Einhorn, violin & vocals, Nine year old Emily has been singing professionally for two years. She has gigged from the Hudson Valley to VanCouver, Canada. She has been studying and performing dance and musical theatre at the New York Conservatory of the Arts for 6 years. She also plays violin in her string quartet “B SHARP” and has performed with the Flying Fiddlers and her school orchestra for years. She loves violin jazz improvisation and dreams of an electric violin someday.

Peter Einhorn, guitarist / composer, His recent recordings include “Live at the Bistro”, and “For Evans’ Sake”, both released in 2004. He is featured throughout Karl Berger’s “StillPoint” with John Lindberg (N.Y. String Trio) which is internationally distributed on Sunny Moon records. His playing and composing can be heard on Ira Sullivan's "Strings Attached", on Pausa Records. Peter has performed and / or recorded with Joe Lavono, Plácido Domingo, Jimmy Cobb, Steve Swallow, David Amram, John Abercrombie, Steve Kuhn, Eddie Daniels, Roland Hanna, Walter Booker and many others. He is also a performer with the Met (Metropolitan Opera) in NYC.

Peter Tomlinson, pianist/composer,  has been a member of the Hudson Valley jazz scene for many years. He has played with Ron Carter, Jimmy Cobb, Hubert Laws, Dave Douglas and singer/songwriter Natalie Merchant. Mr. Tomlinson has recorded three albums as a leader including "Momentum", with excellent reviews from Jazz Times Magazine. His most recent, "For Evans' Sake", is a duo with guitarist Peter Einhorn.
Mr. Tomlinson has been an associate professor of jazz piano at Western Connecticut State University since 1990 and in 2006 began teaching jazz piano at Vassar College.
